Judd Kearl has been involved with horse racing his whole life and has become quite an accomplished racehorse trainer.
Moving to Texas in 1999, he has worked hard to build a solid and successful career in the racehorse industry. Proving to be one of the top trainers in Texas, Judd and his racing team have clinched the back to back Texas Leading Trainer titles by the TQHA in 2006 and 2007. He topped the Trainer Charts at Lone Star Park and Sam Houston Race Park in both years and was the 2006 Leading Trainer at Manor Downs and most recently again trainer of the year at Sam Houston 2011 (4th Time Leading Trainer) and in Texas in 2010.
He trains primarily Quarter Horses but also has some Thoroughbreds, Paints and Appaloosas in his stable that he runs throughout Texas and surrounding states. He is committed to excellence on and off the track and in his stable each horse is given quality care. Judd remains heavily involved in racing issues and currently sits on the Texas Quarter Horse Association (TQHA) Race Committee, a current member of both the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) & The Jockey Club, and is involved with the Texas Horseman’s Partnership.
A native of Utah, he was raised around the horseracing circuit in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming and continues to have the passion for the sport as he had when he was a child. He got the winner circle fever in 1996, when he won his first stakes race, the Spring Classic Derby at Pocatello, Idaho while setting a new track record with a horse named Fatherhood. Judd’s love for his animals show as Fatherhood is still around the Kearl stables. He has a keen eye for horses and also has great compassion and understanding which makes him a key player in the racing game.
Judd continues to rise to the top of his game with his passion, hard work and dedication. It is Judd’s honesty and discipline that are the key reasons why he has one of the most formidable stables in Texas. He attributes his successes to his outstanding racing team including the farm and racetrack employees and quality owners.
